My table then tried out Kingdom Builder, a game that Mark G was keen to try out. This is a game about spreading your buildings across the board to best satisfy three different scoring conditions, which change every game (randomly picking three from the possible ten at the start of the game). You also score by being connected to castles and this latter criterion killed me in this game as I was never able to connect to the castles. I was a bit unfortunate in my initial card draws as I goot the same terrain on the first and second turn and that ensured I was connected to other types of terrain, limiting my ability to jump to a new area of the board. Guy ended up winning this but we were all impressed with how well the game played and how quick it was. Good stuff.
