Our final game of the year was one of our traditional fun games, Phantoms of the Ice. Only Mark W had not played before (and I forgot to get a rating from him) but he soon picked it up. Basically, don't do what Nige did!!!!
You see, Nige had decided that he only needed to win six games to get to the final so, if he kept playing game after game, eventually he would get to six wins. Hmmm, not with his team management skills - he ended up winning four out of a massive twelve games played, which is pretty poor. Mark K, however, chose his moments and ended up winning seven out of his eight encounters to reach the final with ease. However, Guy also made the final and had a way better team on paper (err - cards!). The best of the three showdown saw a shock first win for Mark but Guy kept his composure and took the remaining two ties to be crowned champion. |
