Six of us this week and Mark K had brought his copy of Peloponnes with the expansion to play. Only Mark W had not played before but he remarked afterwards that it was pretty easy to pick up, which it is, although it's not so easy to play well. I had big problems with my wheat supply early on and so tried to make up for it with a hefty stream of luxury goods. It worked ok up to a point but the disasters were not kind to me at the end. Nige was also struggling with his population and it was no surprise that the two of us ended up at the back of the field. Mark K, on the other hand, seemed to work his resources really efficiently and despite two disasters at the end of the game, he was still able to feed his remaining population and claim a well fought win.
