With there being six of us this week and Steve actually remembering to bring the game, this meant we were able to try Peloponnes with the expansion. Peloponnes is a civilisation building game that plays in around an hour and packs a lot of things into the 8 rounds of play. There is a bidding phase for land and building tiles that is based on the Evo / Amun-Re style of auction, following which resources and income are collected and disasters are potentially triggered. As the disasters can be triggered in any order, it is tough to avoid being hit by some of them and, in our game all the disasters affecting population game at the end, together with the final feeding of people. This turned out to be pretty devastating for some of us but Mark K managed to end up with an amazing 34/39 points. This game is turning into one of my favourites this year and I'm very keen to play again soon.
