This week, there were six of us so Steve's new Kingsburg expansion had to wait for another opportunity. We toyed with the idea of locking the door on Nige so we could play it but, eventually, we went for Railroad Tycoon, which I've not played since March 2006.

Mark G went down the same route of expanding West of Chicago as he had done in the last game, whereas Steve was very much the King of the North East. Nige went for easy points in the middle of the board and got his income level up quicker than the rest of us. I was blocked in a bit on the East coast and wasn't helped by Nige completely ignoring the fact that I was supposed to have a turn before he put his master plan into action. Steve's network was looking ominously strong and when he upgraded to a level 6 train, the writing looked to be on the wall. However, Nige managed to finish the game before Steve could capitalise and, with his bonus for having most cash, was able to ease ahead for the win.
