We then tried out an intersting little card game by Simon Hunt called Take Stock. The game uses cards both to represent share ownership and to alter share prices in five different commodities, the idea being to have laid down shares in the highest valued companies by the end of the round. After four rounds, whoever has accumulated the most money wins.
Steve seemed to have a canny knack of picking up high valued cards, particularly in the first round when he managed to gain 56 points (dollars). Nige on the other hand was complaining about his lack of decent cards, a problem I was also experiencing right up until the last round. However, Steve was able to keep pretty far ahead to win comfortably. There were some good ideas in this game but it did go on a bit long, particularly as we had a couple of rounds where the share prices were reset midway through. |
