For some reason, we’ve never played this at the Club even though it is one of my favourite 6 player games. The game is about hiring artistes for four theatre shows being staged in major cities. Each artiste is suited to a particular role in up to 3 different shows and you try to assemble the artistes most suited to the show you are currently working on. On each turn, you can hire an artiste or put on a show. There are always four artistes available for hire and the longer they remain available without being hired, the cheaper they become. Money is important as you have limited funds and, although you can take a loan out against a completed show, this can reduce its ultimate value at the end of the game. Once each player has put on a production of each of the four shows, VPs are awarded with the most going to the better productions and whoever amasses the most VPs wins.

In our game, Nige put on an absolutely pitiful performance of one of the shows (Wolf, I think) and the crowds were flocking to try and get their money back. Mark K, on the other hand, put on a masterful early performance of Ballet and also racked up the best production of one of the other shows, taking the victory with ease.
