A couple of weeks ago, we met King Nige the Just in Krone & Schwert. This week we had Sheriff Nige the Good up against the Bad and Ugly outlaws and renegade. It would be unfair of me to identify who was Bad and who Ugly, but we had a pretty good time with this new Italian card game from Emiliano Sciarra. Basically, you play cards from your hand to inflict gunshot wounds on your opponents, arm yourself with better weapons and hamper the progress of others. The sheriff has to kill the outlaws and the renegade; the renegade has to be the last man standing and so, to an extent, sides with the sheriff, whereas the outlaws simply have to do away with the sheriff. With more than four players, you can also have a deputy who aims to help the sheriff clean up this town, but in our game Sheriff Nige was the only lawman around.

I was first to bite the dust, done away with by a few lucky shots from the sheriff after being cooped up in jail for a couple of rounds. However, my outlaw partner, Mark K, bided his time and when he knew the sheriff was out of ammo, blasted him to Boot Hill. A good game, but I'm sure it would be much better with 6 or 7.
