We finished the year with our traditional closer, Phantoms of the Ice, which John had not played before. He enjoyed it a lot and the rest of us had a good time as usual. Nige was first to qualify for the final, well before anyone else was close. Mark K eventually pipped me to the other qualifying spot and looked to have the better roster of players going into the best-of-three final. However, that was before Nige's bruiser struck in the first leg, taking out one of Mark's star players. So, although Mark won the first leg 3-2, he didn't have the strength to counter Nige in the other two legs, losing 2-1 on both occasions and giving Nige the Championship. |
