My group of five tried out another of the excellent tiny Japanese games published by Oink Games. Deep Sea Adventure is a push-your-luck game in a similar vein to Diamant where you are diving from your submarine to collect treasure and get back to the sub before your air supply runs out. It's amazing how easy it is to misjudge the time to turn back, especially if you are John and keep getting low dice rolls. Nobody made it back to the sub on the first dive and only two had brought back one treasure each after two dives. On the third dive, Mark G was determined to get to the deepest spot and although he picked up the deepest treasure, inevitably he didn't return. However, it was funny to discover his haul would only have been worth 9 points anyway. John managed to get back by the skin of his teeth to discover he'd grabbed 32 points of treasure to give him the win. Excellent fun.
