After Stockpile, my table moved on to Isle of Skye, another new game from the designers of Broom Service. This is a tile placement game akin to Carcassonne but with an interesting price-setting mechanism for determining the tiles you get to place. And each game utilises four different scoring conditions, a subset of which score each round. We all thought this an interesting game but thought it could be prone to some analysis paralysis - even though our game moved reasonably quickly. It wasn't clear who was winning and Mark K was surprised when he found that he had scraped the victory ahead of Felix. |
