There were six of us this week and Mark K had brought his copy of Viticulture with him so we decided to see which of us was the most successful wine maker. This is very much an engine building game. You start off building your infrastructure and working out whether to go for multiple cheaper wines or more complex wines that take longer to pay off but give more points. Nige looked like he was readying himself to trigger the end of the game but wasn't able to get the one extra point he needed. Meanwhile, Felix and I both managed to get to 20 points on the round we expected Nige to get there. However, Mark K, who was on negative VPs for most of the first half of the game, timed his surge to perfection to ease past us with an 8 point order to end on 24 points. Everyone thought this was a really good game although with six it took us a bit longer than was ideal. Probably better with four.
