Our table moved on to an excellent, light game that has the same sort of feel as Biblios in terms of weight, involvement and game-time. This one is a race to 15 victory points by means of collecting and exchanging gems for development cards that reward you with a permanent gem and possibly victory points. Nobles give extra victory points for the irst to complete certain combinations of permanent gems. It plays quickly, has lots to think about while offering a bit of nastiness through the possibility of reserving development cards that others are working towards acquiring.
Having seen some cards that I had wanted early on taken from under my nose, I did reserve a couple of vital high point cards towards the end, and it was me that hit 15 points first. However, the round had to be completed so "No chance" Nige spluttered about the wrong cards coming up but Mark K just had enough to overtake me with 16 points. Doh! |
