Six of us for the first session of the New Year so I introduced everyone to Dirk Henn's Speculation, a game I got for Christmas in its latest version but was originally published in 1992. It's a very elegantly designed stock market game that plays pretty quickly, has some luck but has everyone constantly involved in deciding which stock prices to manipulate while doing the usual buy low / sell high trades. This turned out to be a very close result with Andrew's Eketorp shares appreciating significantly at the end but not quite enough to challenge Nige who just pipped me by 15 Euros (or whatever currency Queen Games uses in their produtions). |
