Game played: Amerigo ( Queen ) BGG Id: 137408

I had asked Nige to bring Amerigo for me to try, as I'd missed out a couple of weeks ago. Something to do with a cruise in the Caribbean, not that I wanted to mention it. Nicky and Andrew had also not played it so we were all at a huge disadvantage compared to Nige. This game has all the usual Stefan Feld trademarks of lots to think about and numerous ways to score points. The hook in this one is the use of the cube tower from Wallenstein and it works extremely well in terms of limiting the actions players can perform. I really enjoyed this aspect, even when the tower defied all logic and didn't present me with enough of the actions I really wanted. So adaptability is a key component to the game and I liked that. It did go on a bit longer than I would have liked and the final round with four players was rather limiting in the options available to you, so four rounds rather than five might be better with that number. However, it was another solid game from Herr Feld and the result was really close with two points separating first and third place - Nige emerging a slender(?) winner.
