There were eight of us this week so four of us decided to play the new Fantasy Flight game, Infiltration. This is an interesting futuristic take on Diamant, where you're pushing your luck gathering as many data crystals from a high tech office block as you can while leaving yourself enough time to escape before the guards arrive and lockdown the building. There were some nice elements to the game and it was very thematic but some bits were a bit frustrating. However, after the game, I discovered a couple of significant errors in the way we played. The data crytals hidden behind the data locks and lab workers go into the data pool for the room rather than the hand of the person who did the unlocking (making Mark G's sledgehammer card much less powerful). Also the interface function in each room can be used multiple times as long as the interface token is present. While we removed the token as soon as someone interfaced for the first time, it should only be removed if the room card instructs you to remove it. Finally, the variant action Extract looks much more interesting than the basic Download action that we played with. I'm therefore keen to play again and I supect the ratings might well improve. As it was, Guy got locked in, having been wounded halfway through the game. The rest of us managed to escape but my 10 point prototype was enough to secure the win. |
