With nine of us this week, the group of five started with a game of Rattus with the Africanus expansion. Steve had played this before so started as a hot favourite. For some reason, everyone kept picking on me in this game. The fact that I might possibly have been leading may have been one of the reason but I think it was more likely vindictiveness on the part of the other players. Having had lots of my pieces removed, things looked bleak but I still managed to press on and place all my pieces, only to have a good number wiped out by the final plague. Still, I managed to tie with Andrew for first place but discovered that he won the tie break by virtue of being the next player in turn order. Doh! A nice, simple unpretentious game which I really enjoyed.
