This week, there were five of us and I was keen to knock some of my shorter unplayed games off the list so we started with Gipsy King, which is a short area control type game. I was quite surprised how tactical this was - it plays very simply but the way the turn order can be manipulated is important to try and claim key spots. However, you can't ignore the possibility of the next player raking in the points if you pass, so you have to "take it for the team" on occasion. I'm not entirely sure why they wanted to record for posterity the occasions when I chose to do this - I thought team player was pretty near the top of my personal strengths. Mark K managed to think one step further ahead than the rest of us and emerged the victor. Good game, which appears as though it may play even better with fewer players as you have a bit more control.
