From one Reiner Knizia auction game to another. I have to say Modern Art isn't one of my favourite games but I am happy enough to play it, and the others seemed pretty keen.
This is one game where all players have to have a good idea of the values of the items for it to work really well. Russ seemed to be a collector at any price and had some good pieces scoring for him at the end of each round. However, he'd overpaid on a number of occasions and didn't make the profit he might have. I wasn't able to buy anything substantial and missed out on two turns to auction through not being able to match an "=" card put down by a previous player. Therefore, although, I had sold well, I wasn't benefiting from some big profits on the end-of-round scoring. The others seemed to get a reasonable blend and the scoring was quite close, but it was Mark who secured the victory.
