We finished off with this dice game from Tom Lehmann and Rio Grande. It is very much in the vein of Yahtzee but with a bit of theme added. Rolling certain combinations of dice allows you to claim an ability card which either adds a dice to the number you roll or allows you to modify a die-roll in some way. Eventually, when someone rolls 7 of a kind, there is a final roll-off with the person getting the best result winning.

Nige won this fairly easily having collected a great combination of dice modifiers and the General, which adds 2 dice to your roll. Mark G didn't have particularly good cards but, as it's a dice game still managed to roll the best possible hand he could without breaking sweat. Mark K's 8 fives looked good but as Nige had the Queen, he had no problem matching that score and claiming victory.

To Court The King is an okay game that is quite good mindless fun. It's usually obvious what your best play is so there ought not to be too much thinking going on but we found it still went on a little too long for what it was.
