Game played: Elfenland ( AMIGO Spiel ) BGG Id: 10

This is one of my old favourites, although Mark G and Mark W had not played before. There are one or two variations on play and, on this occasion, we decided to replenish cards at the end of each round back up to 8. In the first round, Mark W mistakenly thought he had to end up at or near to his secret home-village, which left him at a bit of a disadvantage, although he came back with a storming second round. There was quite a bit of blocking going on which meant that nobody stood too good a chance of visiting all 20 locations, and so it was that after the final round four of us had visited 18 villages and, of those, only two ended up at their own secret home-village, the tie being broken in Ben's favour with more unused cards.

This is a fine game and we all enjoyed playing it very much (as demonstrated by the ratings). Everyone seemed to be in with a chance going into the final round and it proved an extremely close result.
