Mark K had brought along Win, Place and Show, as I had never played this classic Avalon Hill game. In the early races, nobody made much money and Nige actually lost a fair bit. I managed to show a small profit after about race 4, but I was only able to do well in the betting rather than the race prize money. Mark K on the other hand seemed fairly adept at getting his horse across the line in first place and the purse for the final race proved critical as he overtook my cash holding to claim the win.
