Game played: Limits ( AMIGO Spiel ) BGG Id: 1253

John had to leave at this point but the rest of us stayed on for one more game. Limits is a nice memory game by Uwe Rosenburg. I am not a fan of memory games but this is one where you play a bit by instinct as much as card counting. However, on this occasion, my instinct seemed to desert me as I kept mis-reading the position.

Each round a master card displays the number of game cards of each colour there are allowed to be in play. This is adjusted by a card laid face down by each player at the start of the round so no-one knows for sure what the actual limits on each colour will be. Then players take turns to put a single card in play until someone challenges another player whom he thinks has broken the limit with the card he has played. If the challenger is correct he gets +1VP and the player challenged receives -2VPs, or vice versa if the challenger is incorrect.

Nige proved he was the Big Kahuna at this game, winning by a very comfortable margin. The rest of us floundered, each recording negative scores, but my -7VPs certainly took some achieving. Oh, and Nige wouldn't let me get away without pointing out his clean sweep tonight...again! I suppose goes some way to make up for the pitiful performances he recorded in the prior couple of months.
