The second game for my group was an unusual race game in space, Gravwell, where you are manipulating the gravitational forces of a gravity well, together with other ships in order to escape through the warp gate. Over six rounds, players play a hand of six cards, with each card showing an element (which determines turn order) a number determining distance, and a symbol to show whether movement is towards the nearest ship, away from that ship or pulling all other ships towards your ship. However, the uncertain turn order means the card you pick may not move you in the direction you had anticipated. This was good fun with the first couple of rounds resulting in none of us making much progress forward. Nicky took bit of a lead but then was dragged back towards the other two. However, Andrew eventually managed to get the right combination on the fifth round to propel him through the gate and take the win. At the same time, I was being pushed back in the wrong direction. Doh!
