The other three played Castles of Burgundy as Nige had set this up in anticipation of John and Beth turning up but they were unable to make it. It sounds like it's a good job they missed a week as Nige had some difficulty in remembering the rules. I'm not sure what variant they ended up sampling, (actually, I think Mark K caught all the bonehead mistakes) but Mark K managed to ignore the deficiencies in rules explanation and grabbed a good win.
