Game played: Aquileia ( Zoch Verlag ) BGG Id: 108161

There were just five of us this week and none of the games I had read up on beforehand played with that number so we searched the cupboards and fixed on Aquileia, which we've not played for quite a while (February 2012 to be exact). The game is set in the Roman empire and is a worker placement game with players placing their workers in various sectors of the city after which each sector is resolved. Each sector gives a distinct benefit with the aim of either generating victory points during the six rounds or gaining end-game points.

Aquileia is a good game that was somewhat overlooked when it came out. We all enjoyed it although I was constantly struggling with what to do. Steve was grabbing points in the forum and with the banks but Guy was concentrating on buildings and card multipliers and scored a huge number of points at the end to overtake everybody for the win.
