My table of three decided to try and protect the world from Azathoth in Eldritch Horror. This is a much better game than Arkham Horror but it is still long as it took us over three hours to play. Mark G's Mark Harrigan and Nicky's Diana Stanley were making steady progress despite Diana being cursed for a large chunk of the game. Meanwhile my character, Akachi Onyele, was the most incompetent dice roller imaginable, failing virtually every test that was presented to her. Thankfully, she eventually got herself killed, allowing me to re-generate into Norman Withers and he seemed much more competent. However, the doom track was getting lower and we were only just finishing off our second mystery when tragedy struck and one of our solved mysteries got negated, leaving us with a further two mysteries to solve and hardly any time to do it before Azathoth awoke. As we worked out this was inevitable on the next turn, we decided not to stick around to see the Ancient One devour the world and took our loss on the chin. Despite this, we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and with lots of variability in the box with four different Ancient Ones, we were keen to play again.
