Both tables finished at just about the same time so we gathered together for a couple of large -group games. The first was Bruno Faidutti's new game, Mascarade, which is a game of hidden roles and trying to persuade other people that you are who you say you are. With nine of us, I thought it might be difficult to track all the different roles but it didn't prove to be too bad, although Nicky did managed to do one swap and mixed up the card she meant to keep, resulting in her losing a challenge she thought she was going to win. The game doesn't outstay its welcome as players quickly approach enough gold to win and then it becomes a fun exercise of roles being swapped multiple times around the table and trying to work out where the vital card you need to win might be. I managed to guess (sorry, very effectively deduce) correctly where the King was and hit the winning 13 gold target for the win. Excellent fun game, which looks also to play pretty well with as low as four players.
