Game played: Vineta ( Winning Moves ) BGG Id: 27532

Nine of us this week meant two tables and the group of five started off with Vineta, a game Mark G had picked up recently. This is a game of secret objectives where you are trying to protect, through the play of cards, one particular colour of islanders and one section of the island from sinking into the sea. The concept is ok, although I'm not a fan of secret objective games, but we felt the last-player advantage was a bit too strong. Also, the rules swapped the effect of two types of card and the colour objective cards for red and orange are virtually indistinguishable. My red objective looked as though it could have been orange and Guy was convinced throughout the game that his orange card was actually red, so was a bit taken aback when he tried to claim 9 points for red and we had to correct him and he had to settle for 3 points for orange. Pretty funny though. Nicky did a good job of protecting her black pieces, even though the rest of us had worked out she was black very early on, and she claimed a comfortable win.
