On the other table, I had chosen a farming game for us to play but this is a different breed from Agricola. Eine Frage Der Ahre is a fairly abstract game of creating large areas of connected tiles (always obeying the crop rotation rule) to score points. However, this often enables other players to expand the same area for even more points so you need to balance maximising your own score with keeping the potential for others to score in check. There is opportunity for smart play and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Mark W made one excellent play which we thought would have won him the game. Not sure if his lead made him a bit too complacent but we managed to peg him back and amazingly, I overtook him with my greater collection of bonus tiles. Good game.
